Clear & Removable Orthodontic Aligners

Invisible Clear Aligners in Kanata

When it comes to straightening teeth to create the
perfect smile, there are options better than traditional
metal braces. With today’s advancements in orthodontic
appliances, clear aligners are becoming the popular
solution for straightening teeth. These clear aligners are
an advanced and cutting-edge treatment designed to
straighten your teeth without metal braces.
Just like traditional braces, clear aligners will align your
teeth gradually, with small movements overtime. Clear
aligners utilize clear plastic orthodontic aligners rather
than the traditional orthodontic method of utilizing metal
brackets and wires. Book an appointment with Village

Before & After Clear aligners

What Can Clear Aligners Help With?

Different Reasons to Get Clear Aligners

Aligner trays are custom-fit and uniquely made for each and every patient. They differ from one wearer to the next based on the severity of their teeth misalignment. Clear aligners can help treat a variety of different aesthetic and structural issues with your teeth, including:

  • Overbite – upper front teeth overlap lower front teeth
  • Underbite – lower front teeth overlap upper front teeth
  • Crowded Teeth – teeth are overlapping
  • Diastema – small & large gaps between teeth
  • Open Bite – upper front and lower front teeth slant outward and don’t touch when the mouth is closed

If you’re experiencing any of the above issues, contact us to book a free consultation to learn more about your options with clear aligners in Kanata.

Traditional Braces vs. Clear Aligners

Pros & Cons of Clear Aligners

  • Less Noticeable & Discrete
  • Diet is Not Affected
  • Aligners Are Removable
  • Increased Comfort
  • Less Appointments

The only notable disadvantages that come with clear aligners is the potentially large upfront cost and the fact that they can treat most, but not all cases.

Pros & Cons of Traditional Braces

  • Applicable to All Cases
  • You Won’t Forget to Remove or Wear Them
  • Lots of Colour Options

Some significant downsides of traditional braces include: more challenges with oral hygiene, restricted diets, less comfort, more appointments needed, and their appearance can be far from discrete.

Clear Aligners FAQs

Clear aligners are flexible and transparent trays that are used to push teeth into a desired alignment. A patient will receive several clear aligner trays throughout the course of their teeth aligning treatment. Each set of trays are designed to be used for several weeks and will make small adjustments until the next tray should be used.

Clear aligners are designed to work the best on teeth alignment issues related to the location and spacing of teeth. Some orthodontic issues that clear aligners can fix include:

  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Crowded Teeth
  • Open Bites
  • Tooth Gaps

At first, you may experience speech that sounds a bit “slushy”, however, most patients become adjusted to wearing their aligners within a couple of days. After the temporary adjustment period, you will be able to speak clearly and confidently.

No. You can drink water but you shouldn’t be eating or drinking anything else in your clear aligners as it could cause damage to your trays. Take your aligners out and store them in the provided case whenever you’re ready to eat or drink. Once finished eating or drinking, rinse your mouth and your aligners before putting them back on.

Compared to conventional metal braces, clear aligners are much more discrete and comfortable. You may experience some pressure or discomfort within the first couple of days of wearing your trays, but this feeling will fade quickly.

You will typically need to have a dentist check in on your progress every 6 weeks. During these appointments a dentist can measure progress and get you your next set of clear aligners.
